I’m starting this group because (1) I enjoy reading military history and (2) I enjoy discussing books with smart people. I’d like to meet people with broad interests in military history who are willing to read and discuss books spanning all of human history, rather than a narrow focus on one conflict or era: there is something to be learned from any war, I think. The Triangle Sword Guild is a nonprofit group dedicated to the research and practice of Historic European Martial Arts. Our purpose is to reconstruct and learn the martial traditions of medieval and renaissance Europe through a combination of historic research and martial training. Our focus in primarily on the German Liechtenauer tradition, beginning with the longsword and moving toward other weapon forms.
