This Meetup is run by the same folks who brought you the OC Asatru Meetup, and is for studies and discussion pertaining to the Poetic and Prose Edda, Icelandic Sagas, Scandinavian/Germanic folklore, the Kalevala, and historical texts (Tacitus, Bede, Saxo, etc). We're a friendly and drama-free group. Please when applying to the group, give some information about who you are.
Kron -- "crown" in medieval German -- is an affiliate of the HEMA Alliance, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to research and teaching of HEMA: Historical European Martial Arts. SoCal Swordfight! is a community project of over 10 Historical European Martial Arts clubs sharing seminars and tournaments with the assistance of the HEMA Alliance, an educational non-profit promoting HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts). Everything we teach is either derived from an existing historical training manuscript (e.g. Leckuchner 1482 for langenmesser -- German "longknife" -- or Meyer 1570 for longsword), or is a living tradition such as Irish stick-fighting or Scottish wrestling. …
